Email Marketing

Email marketing from Mailchimp and Klaviyo partners on the Gold Coast

Thrive is an email marketing agency in Burleigh Heads and an accredited Mailchimp and Klaviyo partner. Our email marketing team plans, writes, designs and sends your campaigns, builds the automations that run between them, and reports on what they return, all in-house, with the same people week to week. We work with clients across the Gold Coast and Brisbane, and with ecommerce brands Australia-wide, since email runs from wherever your list is.

Email is the cheapest channel you have, because you already own the audience. A customer who has bought once, or a lead who has enquired, costs nothing to reach again. Most businesses have a list and nobody talking to it. That is the job.

What we do with email

Campaigns and newsletters

Planned, written, designed and sent on a schedule your audience actually wants, with every send tested before it goes.

Automations and flows

Welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase and win-back sequences that run on their own once built.

Ecommerce email on Klaviyo

Product-feed emails, segment-based offers and revenue tracking for online stores on WooCommerce and Shopify.

List growth

Sign-up forms, pop-ups, lead magnets and checkout opt-ins that grow a list of people who want to hear from you.

Design and copy

Templates that match your brand and render properly on a phone, with subject lines and copy written to be opened.

Deliverability and reporting

Domain authentication, list hygiene and spam checks, and a monthly report on opens, clicks, conversions and revenue.

Automations that sell while you sleep

Campaigns are the emails you decide to send. Automations are the emails that send themselves, triggered by what a person does, and they are where email marketing earns its keep. Built once, they work every day after.

  • Welcome series for new subscribers, while interest is highest
  • Abandoned cart and browse reminders for online stores, usually the highest-returning email in the account
  • Post-purchase sequences that turn a first order into a second
  • Win-back emails to customers who have gone quiet
  • Lead nurture for service businesses with a longer decision, so an enquiry is not lost if it does not convert this week

For online stores we build these on Klaviyo, connected to your WooCommerce or Shopify store so every email is tied to revenue.

Who email marketing works for

Online stores get the clearest return: automations alone often account for a meaningful share of revenue, and campaigns move stock when you need them to.

Service businesses with a customer base, from clinics and trades to accountants, use email to bring past customers back and keep referrals coming.

B2B companies with a long sales cycle use nurture sequences so a lead who is not ready this month is still warm in six.

If you have a list and no plan for it, or you are sending the occasional newsletter and seeing nothing back, that is where we start. Email also works harder alongside your other channels, which is why it sits inside our digital marketing plans.

How we run your email marketing

1. Audit

We look at your list, your platform, what has been sent and what it returned, and where the gaps are.

2. Strategy

A plan for campaigns, automations and list growth, with a sending rhythm your audience will accept and targets we can measure.

3. Build

Platform setup or migration, domain authentication, templates, segments and the automations, tested before anything goes live.

4. Send and test

Campaigns written, designed and sent on schedule, with subject lines, timing and content tested as we go.

5. Report

A monthly report on opens, clicks, conversions and revenue, and what we are changing next.

"Our team at Wings Public Relations required assistance with a Mailchimp campaign and we were delighted with the support we received from the team at Thrive Web Design. I would highly recommend the team and look forward to working with them again in the future."

Email Marketing FAQs

How can email marketing help my business?

It reaches the people most likely to buy from you, your existing customers and the leads who have already enquired, directly and at almost no cost per send. Used well it brings customers back, turns one purchase into repeat purchases, keeps leads warm until they are ready, and gives you a channel you own rather than rent from Google or Meta.

Mailchimp or Klaviyo, which should I use?

Klaviyo if you run an online store: it connects to WooCommerce and Shopify, tracks revenue per email and is built around product and purchase data. Mailchimp if you are a service business or B2B company that needs campaigns, a simple automation or two and good reporting without the ecommerce depth. We are partners with both and will recommend one after looking at your business, and we handle migration if you are on the wrong one.

Can you help me build an email list?

Yes. We set up sign-up forms and pop-ups on your website, checkout and post-purchase opt-ins for stores, and lead magnets for service businesses, then segment the list as it grows so people get emails that are relevant to them. Everything is double opt-in and compliant with Australian spam law.

How much does email marketing cost?

Two parts: the platform subscription, which you pay Mailchimp or Klaviyo directly and which scales with your list size, and our management fee, a fixed monthly amount based on how many campaigns and automations we run for you. We scope it after the audit so the fee matches the work, and you own the account throughout.

Do you outsource my email marketing to anyone else?

No. Your campaigns are written, designed, built and sent by our in-house team in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast. The person you brief is the person in your account.

How often should I send emails?

Often enough to be remembered and not so often that people unsubscribe. For most online stores that is weekly campaigns plus automations; for service businesses it is usually fortnightly or monthly. We set a starting rhythm based on your audience and adjust it from the open, click and unsubscribe data.

How do you decide the best time to send?

From your own data. Both platforms report when your subscribers open and click, and we test send days and times in the first months and settle on what works for your list rather than a generic best practice.

What do you track to measure success?

Opens and clicks tell us whether the emails are being read; conversions and revenue tell us whether they are working. For online stores Klaviyo attributes revenue to each campaign and automation. For service businesses we track enquiries, bookings and replies. You get all of it in one monthly report.

What accreditations do you have?

Thrive is an accredited Mailchimp partner and Klaviyo partner, and a Google Partner agency for the advertising side of our work. We have been a Gold Coast digital agency for over twenty years.

How do you keep my emails out of the spam folder?

By doing the unglamorous setup properly: authenticating your sending domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, warming up new sending domains, using double opt-in, keeping the list clean of bounces and dead addresses, and giving every email a clear unsubscribe. We monitor deliverability and act before a problem shows up in the open rates.

How do you improve open and click-through rates?

Subject lines and preview text written to be opened and tested against each other, content that matches what the segment signed up for, one clear call to action per email, and templates that render properly on a phone. We test one element at a time so we know what moved the number.

Can you design the emails to match my brand?

Yes. We build templates in Mailchimp or Klaviyo that use your logo, colours and typography and look right in every email client, including dark mode. If you have a brand guide we follow it; if you do not, our designers can create one.
