Website Design

Thrive designs websites for festivals, events, venues, tour operators, performers and entertainment brands across Australia. Our Gold Coast team builds entertainment websites that sell tickets and bookings: program and event pages built for search, ticketing and booking platforms integrated rather than bolted on, video and imagery that hold attention, and a site your team can update as the program changes.

Need a website designer who understands entertainment?

Thrive Digital has designed websites for festivals, tours, experiences and entertainment brands, from a sculpture festival on Currumbin Beach to brewery tours and party planners. We build sites that capture the energy of what you do and turn it into tickets and bookings.

What does your entertainment website need?

Entertainment is impulsive. The visitor is excited, on a phone, and will buy or book right now if the site lets them. Everything on the list below is about not getting in the way.

  • Event and program pages with dates, venue, line-up and a buy button, structured so each event can rank on its own.
  • Ticketing or booking integrated from the platform you use, such as Humanitix, Eventbrite, TryBooking, Rezdy or FareHarbor, so the sale happens without a detour.
  • Video and imagery that load fast on a phone and still look like the real thing.
  • A design with the energy of the event: bold, distinctive and nothing like a corporate brochure.
  • Artist, speaker or performer profiles and media kits for promoters and press.
  • Sponsor, partner and venue hire sections where they earn their keep.
  • A program your team can update at midnight before doors open.

What an entertainment website needs

Sell the feeling

Entertainment is bought on emotion. Full-bleed video, strong photography and a bold design give the visitor a taste of the night, the tour or the show before they have read a word.

A page per event

Each event, tour or experience gets its own page with date, venue, line-up, price and a buy button, so the site ranks for the event and the fan lands on the right page straight from search or social.

Ticketing that just works

Tickets and bookings sold through the platform you already use, embedded or linked so the sale completes in two taps, with your branding intact and your fees unchanged.

Built for the surge

Announcements and on-sales bring traffic in spikes. The site is built and hosted to handle a launch morning without falling over.

Program changes at midnight

Line-ups change, sessions sell out, weather moves things. Your team can update the program, mark a session sold out or post an announcement from a phone, without a developer.

Everyone else who needs it

Sponsors, partners, press, venue hire, artist applications and volunteers all need their own corner of the site, kept out of the fan’s way.

Festivals, tours, experiences, venues and performers

A festival needs a program, a map, ticketing, sponsors and an artist call-out, all of which change every year. A tour or experience operator needs bookable products with availability, pricing and a booking platform integrated properly. A venue needs what is on, hire information and a path for promoters. A performer, speaker or band needs dates, media and a booking enquiry.

We have built all of these, and the first thing we do on any entertainment project is work out what the visitor is here to buy and how many taps it takes.

Entertainment websites across the Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Australia

Thrive is based in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast and has designed websites for entertainment and events businesses locally, in Brisbane, Byron Bay and nationally. Work includes the SWELL Sculpture Festival, the Gold Coast’s annual outdoor sculpture event; Smooth Hoperator, brewery and distillery tours across the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers; Wicked Bucks, a bucks party planning company; Frank & Joy, Byron Bay wedding planners and stylists; and Emissaries.

Projects run by video call and a shared project board, so a promoter in Sydney gets the same process as one in Burleigh. We also design websites for tourism and adventure operators, artists and galleries and food and beverage venues.

Marketing for events and entertainment

A website only works if people find it. The same team that builds entertainment websites runs Facebook and Instagram ads for announcements and on-sales, email marketing for the list that buys first, SEO so events and experiences rank by name, and the digital marketing strategy that ties it together.

Got questions?

Entertainment Website Design FAQs

How much does an entertainment website cost?

It depends on the number of events or products, the ticketing or booking integration, how much video and imagery we prepare, and how much of the content we write. Every project starts with a written scope and a fixed quote, so you know the price before we begin. A performer’s site and a multi-day festival are very different projects.

How long does it take?

Most entertainment websites take four to eight weeks from the first meeting to launch, and we plan the build around your announcement and on-sale dates. Imagery and video are the usual dependencies, so we agree formats early and build in stages you can review as we go.

Which ticketing platforms can you integrate?

Humanitix, Eventbrite, TryBooking, Oztix, Moshtix and most others for events; Rezdy, FareHarbor, Bookeo and similar for tours and experiences. We embed or link so the purchase completes with your branding intact and your fees unchanged, and we build the site so switching platforms later does not mean rebuilding.

Can we sell tickets directly on the site?

Yes, through WooCommerce or Shopify if you want to own the checkout, or through an embedded platform if you want the platform to handle scanning, refunds and capacity. We talk through which suits your event before we build.

Can the website handle a festival program?

Yes. A program with sessions, stages or locations, times, artists and a map, filterable by day and type, built so your team can change it from a phone at midnight before doors open. SWELL Sculpture Festival is an example.

Can the site cope with an on-sale spike?

Yes. We build and host for it. Pages are cached and lightweight, imagery is served at the right size, and the ticketing platform carries the checkout load, so an announcement morning does not take the site down.

Do you build websites for tour and experience operators?

Yes. Smooth Hoperator and Wicked Bucks are examples. Experience sites need bookable products with availability and pricing, a booking platform integrated properly, and imagery that sells the day. Our tourism and adventure page covers this in more depth.

Do you work with entertainment businesses outside the Gold Coast?

Yes. We build entertainment and events websites for businesses across Brisbane, Byron Bay, Sydney and Melbourne. Projects run by video call and a shared project board, so distance makes no difference to the result.

Do entertainment websites need SEO?

Yes. Fans search for the event or experience by name and for “things to do” plus a place. We structure the site with a page per event and product so it can rank for those searches, and our SEO team can keep building on that after launch.

Who looks after the website once it is live?

We do, if you want us to. Our hosting and support plans cover the server, security updates, daily backups and help with changes, and we train your team so updating the program, adding an event or posting an announcement is something you can do yourselves.
