Portfolio Photography & Creative

Photography & Creative
Website Design

Thrive designs websites for photographers, filmmakers, designers, printers and creative studios across Australia. Our Gold Coast team builds creative portfolio websites that show the work at its best and still load fast: galleries built for large imagery, packages and pricing that convert, enquiry and booking paths, client galleries and print sales, and a site you can update with every new shoot.

Portfolio websites that win the booking

A creative portfolio has one job: make a potential client look at your work and want to hire you. Thrive Digital designs photography and creative websites that present the work beautifully, load fast on a phone and make the enquiry the obvious next step.

What makes a great photography or creative website?

A client looking for a photographer, filmmaker or designer decides on the work in seconds and on the details in minutes. The site has to nail both.

  • Galleries built for large, colour-accurate imagery that still load instantly on a phone, organised by the kind of work you want more of.
  • Packages and a pricing guide, because clients who cannot find a starting price enquire elsewhere.
  • An enquiry form that captures date, location and the type of job, landing with you immediately, plus a phone number for the ones who want to talk.
  • A page per service, such as weddings, commercial, portraits, real estate or video, so each can rank and convert on its own.
  • Client galleries and proofing linked from the platform you use, such as Pic-Time or ShootProof, and print sales where they suit you.
  • Instagram built in and a design that holds up next to your feed.
  • A site you can update after every shoot without a developer.

What a creative portfolio needs

The work, uninterrupted

Large images, generous space, restrained typography and nothing that competes with the photographs or the films. The design should disappear and the work should do the talking.

Fast, despite the images

Portfolios die on load time. We build the image pipeline so every photograph is served at the right size for the screen, sharp on a large monitor and instant on a phone, with colour preserved.

A page per kind of work

Clients search for “wedding photographer Gold Coast” or “commercial videographer Brisbane”, not for your name. A page per service, with its own gallery, packages and enquiry, lets the site rank for each and sends the client to the right work first.

Pricing that converts

A starting price or packages page removes the biggest reason clients do not enquire. Shown with what is included, it filters out the wrong clients and reassures the right ones.

Enquire in a minute

Date, location, type of job, how they found you. The enquiry form lands with you immediately and the client gets a reply they can trust. Connected to your studio management software where it helps.

Easy to keep fresh

A portfolio that is not updated goes stale fast. We build the site so you can add a shoot, reorder a gallery or change a package from your phone, and we train you to do it.

Photographers, filmmakers, designers and print studios

A wedding or portrait photographer needs galleries that sell the feeling, packages, an enquiry path and links to client galleries. A commercial photographer or film studio needs case studies by client and sector, a showreel that loads fast and a path for agencies and brands to brief you. A designer or creative agency needs a portfolio that shows the thinking as well as the result.

A print studio needs services, specifications, a quote path and often online ordering. We have built all of these, and the first thing we do on any creative project is work out what kind of work you want more of and show that first.

Creative websites across the Gold Coast and beyond

Thrive is based in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast and has designed portfolio websites for creatives locally, in Brisbane and overseas. Work includes Roam Films, a Gold Coast film studio with clients such as Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Tourism; The Edit Suite; Meet The Spragues, a Boston family photographer; Ronnie Grammatica, an Italian photojournalist; Burleigh Print, a print and design studio; and Pollen Design, a Currumbin design agency.

Projects run by video call and a shared project board, so a photographer in Melbourne or Boston gets the same process as one in Burleigh. We also design websites for artists and galleries and for entertainment and events businesses.

Marketing for photographers and creatives

A website only works if clients find it. The same team that builds portfolio websites runs SEO for the service-and-place searches clients make, Facebook and Instagram ads where visual work is discovered, Google Ads for wedding and commercial enquiries, and the digital marketing strategy that ties it together.

Got questions?

Photography & Creative Website Design FAQs

How much does a photography website cost?

It depends on the number of galleries and services, whether you need client galleries, print sales or booking integrations, and how much of the image preparation we do. Every project starts with a written scope and a fixed quote, so you know the price before we begin. A single-photographer portfolio and a film studio with fifty case studies are very different projects.

How long does it take?

Most portfolio websites take four to eight weeks from the first meeting to launch. Image selection is the usual reason projects run long, so we agree the galleries early and build in stages you can review as we go.

How do you keep a photo-heavy site fast?

We build the image pipeline so each photograph is served at the right size and format for the screen it is on, with lazy loading and caching, so a gallery of a hundred images loads instantly on a phone. Colour is preserved and sharpness is tuned for retina screens.

Can clients book and pay through the site?

Yes. For session-based work we integrate booking and deposits through the platform you use, such as Studio Ninja, Dubsado, HoneyBook or Calendly. For most photographers an enquiry-first path works better, and we build the form to capture what you need to quote.

Can we sell prints online?

Yes. We build print sales on WooCommerce or Shopify, with sizes, finishes and shipping handled, or we link to a print lab integration from your client gallery platform if that suits you better.

How do you handle image rights and protection?

We serve images at resolutions that look sharp on screen but are not print quality, add watermarks where you want them, and can disable right-click, though we are honest that nothing stops a screenshot. Your copyright notice and usage terms go on the site.

Do you build websites for film studios and videographers?

Yes. Roam Films and The Edit Suite are examples. Video sites need a showreel that plays fast, case studies by client and sector, and a path for agencies and brands to brief you.

Do you work with creatives outside the Gold Coast?

Yes. We have built portfolio sites for photographers in Boston and Italy as well as across Australia. Projects run by video call and a shared project board, so distance makes no difference to the result.

Do photography websites need SEO?

Yes. Clients search for the kind of photographer and a place, and the ones that appear get the enquiry. We structure the site with a page per service and location so it can rank for those searches, and our SEO team can keep building on that after launch.

Who looks after the website once it is live?

We do, if you want us to. Our hosting and support plans cover the server, security updates, daily backups and help with changes, and we train you so adding a shoot or changing a package is something you can do from your phone.
