Law Firm
Website Design

Thrive designs websites for law firms, solicitors, barristers and specialist practices across Australia. Our Gold Coast team has built sites for family, employment, commercial, personal injury and intellectual property firms, each one structured around practice areas so it ranks for the searches clients make, written to build trust before the first call, and built within the advertising and costs disclosure rules that apply to the legal profession.

Are you a law firm looking for a professional new website?

Our designers work with law firms across Australia to create websites that stand out in a competitive market. Thrive Digital builds modern, clearly structured sites for solicitors and firms, with defined goals, a page for every practice area and an enquiry path that turns a visitor into a client.

What makes a great law firm website?

Someone looking for a lawyer is usually dealing with something stressful and is comparing three or four firms in one sitting. The website that explains the problem in plain language, shows a real person who handles it and makes the first step easy is the one that gets the call.

  • A page for every practice area, written in plain English about the client’s problem rather than the firm’s credentials.
  • Lawyer profiles with real photos, admission details, accredited specialist status where held, and the areas each person actually works in.
  • A clear first step: a phone number, an enquiry form that asks only what intake needs, and an honest note about the initial consultation and costs.
  • Advertising that complies with the legal profession rules in your state, including the limits on personal injury advertising in Queensland and on claiming to be a specialist.
  • Content that earns trust: guides, articles and answers to the questions clients ask before they call, with the right disclaimers.
  • Confidentiality handled properly: SSL, a privacy policy, and forms that make clear an enquiry does not create a retainer or legal advice.
  • Local search built in, because most legal searches include a suburb or city and a practice area.

What a law firm website needs

The client’s problem, not your CV

People do not search for a firm; they search for a problem: “parenting orders Gold Coast”, “unfair dismissal lawyer Brisbane”, “conveyancing Robina”. Each practice area page opens with the situation the client is in, what the law allows, and what happens next.

A page per practice area

Family law, wills and estates, conveyancing, commercial, employment, criminal, personal injury, litigation. One page for each, named the way clients search, so the site can rank for every area you practise and a visitor lands on the right page first time.

Compliant by design

Legal advertising is regulated. It must not be false, misleading or deceptive, you cannot call yourself a specialist without accreditation, and Queensland tightly restricts how personal injury services may be advertised. We write and structure the site with those rules in mind.

A first step that is easy to take

A phone number on every page, an enquiry form that asks only what intake needs, and a plain statement of what the first consultation involves and costs. The form lands with the right person immediately, and the visitor is told what happens next.

The people behind the firm

Profiles with real photography, admission year, accredited specialist status where held and the matters each lawyer actually handles. For most clients the choice of lawyer is personal, and this is the page that decides it.

Authority you can show

Guides, articles and answers to the questions clients ask before they call. Written well, they rank, they reassure, and they shorten the first conversation. Written badly, they are a liability, so each carries the right disclaimer.

Family, commercial, employment, personal injury and specialist firms

A family law practice needs a calm tone, plain-language pages on separation, parenting and property, and an enquiry path that feels safe. A commercial firm needs a site that reads as sharp and credible to a business owner comparing advisers. An employment or personal injury practice needs clear eligibility information and, in Queensland, careful handling of what the personal injury advertising rules allow.

Barristers, patent attorneys and boutique specialists need something different again: a site that explains a narrow expertise to referring solicitors and clients alike. We have built all of these, and the first thing we do on any legal project is work out who your clients are and what they need to read before they pick up the phone.

Law firm websites across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Australia

Thrive is based in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast and has designed websites for firms across South East Queensland, including Brisbane, and nationally. Recent legal work includes Workplace Allies, an employment law firm; Moore Lawyers; Lawnch, a corporate and commercial firm; Claim Wise, a personal injury practice; Bell Legal Group, the Gold Coast’s oldest law firm; Eagar & Associates, patent attorneys; and Davis Legal, a barrister’s practice.

Projects run by video call and a shared project board, so a firm in Sydney or Melbourne gets the same process as one in Southport. We also design websites for professional service firms and financial services businesses that face the same trust and compliance questions.

Marketing for law firms

A website only works if the right clients find it. The same team that builds law firm websites runs SEO for the practice area and suburb searches clients make, Google Ads for the matters you want more of, and the digital marketing strategy that ties it together, all within the advertising rules for the legal profession.

Got questions?

Law Firm Website Design FAQs

How much does a law firm website cost?

It depends on the number of practice areas and lawyers, whether you need integrations with your practice management system, and how much of the content we write. Every project starts with a written scope and a fixed quote, so you know the price before we begin. A sole practitioner and a multi-office firm with twenty practice areas are very different projects, and the quote reflects that.

How long does a law firm website take?

Most law firm websites take six to ten weeks from the first meeting to launch. Practice area content and lawyer profiles are the usual reason projects run long, so we write with you rather than waiting, and we build in stages you can review as we go.

What are the advertising rules for law firms in Australia?

Advertising by a law practice must not be false, misleading or deceptive, and must not bring the profession into disrepute. You cannot describe yourself as a specialist unless you hold accredited specialist status from your law society. In Queensland, the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act restricts advertising of personal injury services to essentially your name, contact details and areas of practice. We write and structure the site with these rules in mind and flag anything that would need your compliance officer’s eye.

Can we show client testimonials?

Yes, with care. Testimonials are permitted for law firms, unlike some health professions, but they must be genuine, must not disclose anything confidential and must not be misleading about results. In Queensland they cannot be used in personal injury advertising. We usually recommend a small number of real, attributed quotes rather than a wall of anonymous reviews.

Can the website connect to our practice management software?

Yes. Enquiry forms can feed LEAP, Smokeball, Actionstep, Clio and most other systems, so a new enquiry becomes a matter or a lead without re-keying. Where a client portal is needed, we link to the one your practice management system provides rather than building a second, less secure one.

Do you build websites for barristers and specialist practices?

Yes. A barrister’s site speaks to instructing solicitors as much as to clients, so it leads with areas of practice, notable matters where they can be named, and clear instructions on how to brief. Davis Legal and Eagar & Associates are examples of specialist practices we have built for.

Do you build websites for family law practices?

Yes. Family law sites need a calm tone, plain-language pages on separation, divorce, parenting arrangements and property settlement, and an enquiry path that feels safe to someone who is often contacting a lawyer for the first time in their life. We write them for that reader.

Do you work with law firms outside the Gold Coast?

Yes. We build law firm websites for practices across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, regional Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. Projects run by video call and a shared project board, so distance makes no difference to the result.

Do law firm websites need SEO?

Yes. Legal searches almost always combine a practice area with a place, such as “family lawyer Southport” or “commercial lease solicitor Brisbane”, and the firms that appear are the ones that get the call. We structure the site with a page per practice area so it can rank for those searches, and our SEO team can keep building on that after launch.

Will the website look like every other law firm website?

No. Every site is designed from scratch around your firm, your lawyers and your clients, using your own photography wherever possible. Real offices and real people build more trust than any stock photo of a gavel.

Who looks after the website once it is live?

We do, if you want us to. Our hosting and support plans cover the server, security updates, daily backups and help with changes, and we train your practice manager so updating lawyers, practice areas and articles is something you can do yourselves.
